First I would like to say I have been a customer for 8 yrs. I made an app for 430 pm I arrived at 420pm my app was with Kevin, when I came in he was already with someone. I waited 45 mins. I always get permanent French gel when I was done the gel was coated very uneven, leaving a lot of spots not covered. Kevin was no where after I was done so Jenny tried to fix it by adding more. When I got home I noticed the fill was all uneven and bumpy and lifting. The following day I called because I was worried about getting moisture under it leaving me exposed to a fungus. I asked if I can come in to have it fixed and Nikki told me come tomorrow and hung up on me. I called back because I couldn't come in the next day and she didn't even give me a time . I called back and spoke to Evelyn I explained what happened and told her I will be there at 530 she said she will fix it. I got there at 530 and she looked at it and told me the entire fill needed to be done over. Told me to wait for Nikki who was waxing someone , so she can see it needs to be done over and I wouldn't have to pay for it again. Evelyn told her I wa here and she yelled from the back tell her to come back tomorrow. I come from Lynbrook and I told her already I couldn't make it the next day. I told her if she couldn't do it today to give me my money back and I will go someplace else to have it fixed. After 45 mins of waiting there for someone to fix my nails she finally came out of the back to yell at me and tell me I told you to come tomorrow didn't even look at my nails to see the horrible job. I again told her to give me my money back she then shows me a photo copy of a refund policy she has framed that's not a refund at all but says your not getting your money back. Finally after I had to get loud with her she agreed to let Evelyn fix my nails. There where 2 young girls in there that informed me that this happened last time with another lady who threatend to call the cops. Then Nikki was trying to put the blame on Jenny who tried to fix the gel after Kevin was done and I had to yell at her and tell her this had nothing to do with Jenny. This owner Nikki doesn't care about your satisfaction with the work, she take no pride in her business and doesn't care about her customers just about getting there money. After 8 yes I spent a lot of money at her business and this is how she treated me. After I recommend family and friends there, I will never step foot in that place I I advise everyone stay away that place, it's not wht it used to be. Nikki is and horrible owner/manager she only cares about her pocket! STAY AWAY!

I ended up at this place because not every nail salon has techs that can actually shape a nail and I was looking for the "ballerina" style while getting a UV gel fill-in. I figured Exotic Nails would know. A friend recommended Evelyn. I arrived around 5 pm and sat down immediately with Kevin because she was with a client at the time. I asked a few questions on pricing as it was my first time at the salon and the answers were abrupt and he would not even make eye contact so it was hard to hear him. I thought, wow that's kind of rude but I'm a fair person so I decided to brush it off. Next thing I noticed - he shaped my nails nicely except for ONE - my thumb. He ended up taking too much off the sides giving me a pointed "stiletto" style nail while the rest were the ballerina style I wanted. I mentioned to him that he might have taken too much off the side and he completely ignored me. I could tell he was already in a sour mood since the minute I sat down. Not sure whether he was having an unbelievably bad day or what because it's hard to believe he would always treat his customers this way. It was unnecessarily rude. I let him keep filing my nails until it was time to put the color - this is when I repeated to him that my thumb nail was differently shaped than the rest. Now, I'm not a difficult customer whatsoever. I've worked in customer service for many years in my past so I try to be polite when speaking to anyone servicing me. This man acted like I had just insulted his great ancestors for even mentioning the nail and told me to relax that he was not done yet. So what does he do? Proceed to put on the gel color and do nothing about my thumb. Another thing: he was running out of the color I had chosen and had run out of the polish thinner to extend the color so instead of advising me the color wouldn't come out as expected he decided to dig into the empty nail polish bottle and rub whatever was left on my nails. LOL!!! Did he not expect me to react? Obviously the color looked sloppy because it wasn't an even consistency and was running dry. I told him the color was no good. All he had to do was tell me to choose another color - one he ACTUALLY had in stock. Once again he barked at me "JUST WAIT I AM NOT DONE." I was speaking to him in such a polite manner I was astounded at this unnecessary reaction. I could have easily lost it at this point but I didn't want to ruin my good day so I managed to tell him "Ok, I'll trust you." What happens next? I let the whole thing happen and now I'm typing this review with poorly coated nails and one stiletto style thumb that stands out from the rest. I'm actually mad I let the whole thing happen for not wanting to fight with him that day. I saved about $5 from what I normally would spend at another salon but now I wish I had just paid it for a better experience elsewhere. All I can do now is vow to never return and let everyone know about my experience with the rude idiot. AVOID KEVIN.
