VERY hospitable! Great selection, great coffee, smoothies, and buffet, as well as custom food made while you wait.
Bathrooms upstairs are very clean and for paying customers only.

Essen has a great selection, and the food is good as long as you visit during a busy hour. However, when it's busy, the checkout line can get incredibly long. It moves fairly quickly but it can seem daunting. The quality seems to dip when it's not busy.

It is very fast and they have everything. I like the sushi, but I don't love their brown rice option and the fact that they are out of the vegetarian one very often if you go after 2pm. I tried the buffet before and it's good, it would be better if they had more vegetarian hot options.

Not much to say here. They have all kinds of food for whatever you're in the mood for. Pricing is what you'd expect in NY for a quick lunch

Heard the hype and came to check it out for the first time. I came hungry. Got the hot buffet food. Everything looks great. I found the skirt steak, the sauteed string beans, and salmon kind of tasteless; and the chicken francaise was just sour. Penne ala vodka and sesame chicken were decent. Kind of pricey.
The decor and service were fine. I think pretty much what you'd expect from these types of multi-cuisine eateries in NYC. Will have to come and try their other options though.
