Very good experience yesterday at Eneslow. I have wide feet, high arches, and use an orthotic. Not a simple sale, but I found three pairs of shoes (I am from out of town and cannot find shoes locally). Haji (spelling?) spent an hour and a half with me, took the time to measure my feet and bring out lots of options, all good. The first pair of sneakers he brought out turned out to be a perfect fit with the orthotic, right on the money (Brooks - wide toebox, narrow heel, extra depth). I came in a pair of boot/dress shoes that I have worn to death - they had the same boots (Drew workboots), but unlike the place I had bought them from previously, had all the sizes in stock, I was able to try them on and go a half-size smaller and wider for an even better fit this time around. They had lots of "almost" options in dress shoes that didn't quite work with the orthotics. I ended up splurging on a pair of Aldens without orthotics as I don't wear those all day long, and have a pair of Alden's that has lasted me 15+ years (purchased at Eneslow way back when). Not cheap at $150/$275/$500 for the shoes but I am set now for several years. I heard similar attention being paid to others around me. Not sure where the negative reviews came from; I can only suggest going mid-day to the Park Avenue store (their "main" branch").

Staff to customer ratio is 4:1 this morning but I was only able to try on 3 pairs of shoes after 25min of asking staff. They each arrived out of the stock room in incorrect sizes but no one could go to get me correct sizes. I asked could they check for my size? (9 not looking for anthing too scarce) if they didn't have them now will they be getting them? Can they order them? No one knew the answers to these questions. Does this place even actually sell shoes?

I love Eneslow....great selection and most importantly a great sales staff who know a ton about shoes and proper shoe fitting. I have bought some very comfortable and stylish shoes like Merrell, FitFlops and Clarks. Definitely worth going to Eneslow for comfort, style and knowledgeable staff.

My mother and I shopped for special shoes however the we bought the wrong size so we returned to exchange them, no problem we had the box and rec. We spent more than $1000 that day. However we were given the wrong size a 39 instead of 38... The salesman did not have her try on the shoe and we did not check. My mother went back to tell them they had given her the wrong size w/o the box but she had her rec. The manager Mott? did not want to exchange her shoe and gave her a very hard time and blamed her for the mistake. They took no responsibility for the mistake but most of all the un-proffessional service is not worth going back. Mr. Schwartz I hope you train your staff better or you will be losing more costumers.

They don't use Birkenstock parts. If, for instance, you bring in Birk sandals with ruined cork and ask for a complete footbed replacement, the sales clerk will nod as if he knows what you're talking about, but what you'll get back is the same ruined footbed with moldable cork squeezed into all the holes, and if there's a hole in the liner, you'll be walking directly on uncovered cork-goo. An utter hack job.
