Empire Kayaks

Looks like a well organized place.

Myself and 2 buddies decided to try kayaking and fishing for the first time and we opted to go with Empire given the nice location in Long Beach and the very reasonable pricing.

Very cool, relaxed environment with friendly, knowledgeable and willing to please staff that really cared about our kayak experience.

They were extremely accommodating in securing 3 kayaks with flush mount fishing rod holders and they even provided advice as to where to fish for the most action and fun.

Staff offered a brief tutorial on kayak paddling and safety and they pointed out key landmarks to ensure we could return with ease in the event we were overly adventurous.

The kayaks, paddles and life vests were in excellent condition, so we felt safe and confident that we were on reliable gear that would safely take us on our adventure.

After an afternoon of fishing and paddling, we wanted to come in for some lunch and asked if they would hold our kayaks off to the side ( with our gear ) to allow for a brief lunch break without switching to new boats and reloading our gear, the staff was completely accommodating in storing our yaks on the side to ensure we would have a quick return to the water after lunch.

Upon returning for the day, the staff was genuine in checking that our day was fun filled and exciting...they really seemed to care about our experience and we were not "just another rental fee".

This will now become my "go to" place for kayak rentals and easily a 5 star experience, from location, gear, staff and pricing.

Best time ever!

Great service and the lady in front was very nice. The best part is there is a large region to Kayak an you might get lost. They could be more thorough with the directions. Why don't they add other water sport activities too?
Still I loved it and will drop by during the Spring.

We first heard about Empire through a .field trip my 10 year old went on and had a great time. Mike & Gabby taught the boys about the local sea life, the "basics of kayaking", and safety on the water then took them on a fun filled afternoon around the Empire Kayak location. My son had a blast!
My son and I wanted to try fishing on the kayaks so we went back another day and got more instruction and assistance (good thing as I'd never been a kayak before!). Mike got us set up with the right kayak ans we headed out for a few hours and had a great time. The prices were more than reasonable, the equipment was reliable and easy to use. We'll definitely be going back!
