The hard hat tour of island 2 and 3 was great. I highly recommend it for health care professionals who love history. Also the ghosts of Ellis Island won't last forever.

I visited alone this island, it was very interesting place and not boring to be there about 2 hours. I saw photos of Greek immigrants :)) Love Greece! Perfect Place! November 2014.

So interesting! All though people usually see this as part of a stop on the way to see The Statute of Liberty, I spent way more time here than at the statute. This place is so full of history and is so interesting, saying that 1 in 3 people living in The United States of America can trace their lineage back to someone coming through this island makes it a "must see". Going through all the rooms and imagining what they must have seen and felt, looking at the photos and antique furniture was just amazing. I could have easily spent the whole day there.

A great museum that offers a detailed look into the immigrant experience during the early 1900s. Unfortunately when we went a lot of the artifacts were in storage due to some issues with the museum's climate control following Hurricane Sandy, but even still the exhibits were fascinating, especially the one that detailed the nurses and doctors that worked on the island.

Great piece of American history avalable for everyone to explore. Highly recommended to stop by here on your visit to the Statue of Liberty. Went late in the day and the ticket booth lady told us we wouldn't have enough time to see both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, but if you're frugal with your time you can enjoy both thoroughly even if you're short on time.

Great views of downtown Manhattan from the island. Nice photo opportunity.
