I bought a couple's massage here and it really was nothing special. The staff was fairly rude and the massage was barely decent. I asked for more pressure and got very little. I asked for not too much lotion and i left slicked up and gross. This place isn't that cheap either. I definitely will not be spending my money here again.

What a shame. The experience of being at a first class spa here on Long Island has been diminshed. The Red Door Spa in Merrick was lacking from beginning to end. The front desk staff barely acknowledges you except to ask if you have a gift certificate. You are whisked from service to service with a clear eye on the clock. The massage was fine but the facial was nowhere in the vicinity of good ones I have experienced. Finally, the ladies changing room lacked cloth towels, paper towels, and shower caps. The shower itself hadn't been cleaned out from the person before me who had left their towels. It used to be so much nicer!

So far I have been to this spa twice during spa week.
My first visit about a year ago was horrible and resulted in me not being serviced because they simply forgot I was there. After waiting for almost a hour after my appointment I simply changed my clothes and left. But not before complaining.
I was hesistant to return but when I got a call from them saying that they could accomodate me for spa week this year I jumped on it. I was scheduled for both a facial and stress melter service.
Once I arrived there were several people at the front desk that greeted me immediately. I was then showed to the changing /bathroom where I picked a locker to secure my belongings. Once I changed into their robe and slippers I headed to their relaxation/waiting room to wait to be called for my services.
However, this visit I noticed that they had a representative present in the relaxation room who asked if you had any needs or issues. This was a refreshing touch after my last experience at this location. Their decor had also changed from the last time I was there but they still offered the same amenities in the waiting area (comfy and relaxing seating as well as comp beverages). The waiting room attendant checked the room periodically and everyone was called and serviced in a timely manner from what I could observe.
The facial was about an hour long and included a hand treatment as well. The stress melter service is very relaxing and will leave even the driest skin soft and smooth. With all of the modifications at this location I will definiitley return to this location in the future.

Every year for my birthday I booked a spa package at different spa in the Tri-State area. This year I decides on the Red Door Spa in Garden City. They started with the massage which was ok but I had better massages before. I felt like I was being rushed throughout the entire time from one service to the next. My cuticles on my toes and nails were cut a bit too low so now I'm feeling the discomfort. I booked a package deal but they charged me for each item separately so I ended up paying $25 extra on the bill. The extra makeup refresher couldn't be done because they had no makeup artist at the time I was scheduled, I think that was done on purpose. I know for sure that they won't be seeing me anytime soon
Thanks team for ruining my birthday

I visited the Red Door Spa in Garden City May of this year. My daughter purchase a gift certificate for me to receive a massage and a mani/pedi. The front desk and the overall atmosphere at the spa was very relaxing. The facility was very clean. I decided to upgrade my services and have a facial and splurge on the mani/pedi. I felt overall the services were average. A massage and facial usually puts me to sleep. Here, however, I was awake the whole time and when it was over, I thought to myself its over already? The mani/pedi was nice and lasted almost two weeks. The facial felt nice afterwards and my face looked good. The massage did feel good, however for the price they charge, I felt I could have gotten the same service at a nearby local day spa.
I filled out a survey after my visit and I rated the spa a 6 on a scale of 1-10. Someone called me from the spa to follow-up about a week later. She asked me how they could improve the services next time , but that was it. She didn't offer me a service to try and get me to come back and try their spa again, nor did she ask if I would return to their spa in the future or refer their spa.
My suggestion if you are going to this spa is to book longer services and to ask them to do it exactly the way you like and/or are used to ie, a softer or harder massage, etc. Good luck. Ms. Roberts
