Been to a few spas for facials and massages in New York but what I love about this place is the many different services they offer. Their menu selection is huge. I mean pros: I get more done and cons: I spend more! =] Its ok though, they do very well and are professional.

I've been a customer at Elaine Randee Salon for over 15 years. It was a very well run establishment and I've never had a problem with their services. It is now under new management and most of the former employees are no longer there. " I miss you Elana! " Welcoming the new renovations and staff, one would think that any change would be for the better. Not in this case.
I made an appointment for a manicure/pedicure; my usual once a month treat, set for 1 pm. I get there on time and I'm told that its for 1:15, Victoria is running behind. I had to just ask for a manicure and come back the following day for the pedicure as I have an engagement at 2 pm sharp. Fine. Until I was receiving my manicure..,something I've had done for years. I'm feeling that my nails are being done in a hurry. I say nothing and just keep my eyes closed. Until I feel the sharp pain in my fourth digit from the cuticle cutter. Ouch! Blood...I'm upset now...OK...This is defiantly a rush job. I say very little, my nails are done, I tip and I'm on my way.
Day 2. I arrive at 1 pm which was my scheduled appointment. I pay in advance as I normally do. I'm told to go upstairs to meet Victoria. Alas! she's painting someones toe nails with polish and it looks like she just started. I'm not familiar with the procedure, but I'm going to assume a second coat would be applied. Someone stops to ask me if they can help me and I tell them I'm here for my scheduled appointment with Victoria...they both look at each other with aw and I hear, that the lady who's toes are being done will also have her manicure done by Victoria. Not one word from me...I just turn around...run downstairs...collect my refund...and leave.
New management, new furnishings, new staff...horrible service. Sometimes things should just stay the way they are.
Not returning...ever. Ciao.

It's good for what I go there for which is the laser skin tightening. I went 5 yrs. ago to get the same treatment which I saw results in a weeks time, but that's just me. I am fit, but just had some natural sagging concerns on my thighs. There are a handful who are helpful and friendly, but for the most part the customer service I'm use to is lacking and stoic...since most of the women who work there are Russian I think that has something to do with it (that's my honest observation). You can barely get a smile out of 'em. Margaret does my service who I always request, SHE ROCKS!
To avoid crowds I make my appointments during non-peak hours.
As far as going for any other services...nah!!
