Those margaritas... they're always such a great idea at first, but they definitely pack a punch! The staff there is incredibly friendly and sassy and you can get free chips and salsa at the bar. The rest of their menu is pretty standard tex-mex fare, but I've never had a bad meal there.

When I went to East L.A. with my friends last night I received some of
what I would consider the worst service I've had anywhere thus far. I
usually go to this place with my colleagues and friends and have never
had a disgusting experience up until now.
Here's what happened:
We walked in and went up to the hostess who asked us if we'd like a
table and if we were here just for drinks. We then explained to her
that we'd actually want to eat food and she gave us a 30min wait
time...No problem. Maybe 15-20min into us waiting for our table she
came up to us again asking us if we actually wanted to eat a meal,
"yes...we'd like to sit down and eat dinner". In the same conversation
she asked us yet AGAIN two times more whether or not we were certain
because according to her "Sometimes I get three tops that just sit
there and order wings and they split it amongst themselves" and then
went on about us "wasting a table" if that were the case. For
starters, we already told her as soon as we got there that we wanted
an actual meal, secondly I'm not sure what gave her the impression
that we were actually going to sit down and huddle over a basket of
wings as if we couldn't afford to have a meal. For me, that in itself
(other than asking "are you sure you're actually eating?") Is highly offensive. Like I've said previously, my friends and I have come here countless times and have never had to face this sort of social class discrimination EVER. At this point it's been at least 30min and she came up to us AGAIN and asked us AGAIN as if she hadn't asked us already "are you guys going to order food?" At this point we're all very irritated and my friend responded "yes, again we are going to eat. You've already asked us this 5 times over" in a CALM, yet assertive tone and the hostess then told her not to yell at her. I don't know about you, but usually when someone is yelling there's some bass in their voice which was nowhere to be found coming from my friend. She then asked what we want her to do at this point and since we'd been waiting the appropriate amount of time (30min) to eat we asked her if we could just be seated. Upon request she told us "I don't think that's a good idea..." We'd been waiting to be seated, been asked LITERALLY 5 times if we were actually going to eat because I guess as a group of minority women we couldn't possibly afford it and now you tell us that YOU don't think it's a good idea for us to be seated. The manager came up to us with a misogynistic tone immediately and when I'm calmly trying to explain the situation he continued to be rude and disruptive by talking over me before I could even make my point. He said that "it's a restaurant" so that warrants her the right to continuously ask us if we're positive as to whether or not we're eating. When I told him about what she said about 3 tops splitting an appetizer of wings he told me "that's not true". Not only that, but when my friend tried to say something he told her to "shut up and stop talking". This place is a DISGUSTING establishment that not only disrespects women but also those who are a minority and apparently don't fit the social class of Hoboken. East L.A. has not only disappointed my friends and myself but they've also embarrassed us. It's clear that we won't be returning customers.

I've been going here for years now and I love this place. The margaritas are my favorite on New Jersey. The staff is always so sweet when they see me. The best times to go are week nights (no crowds) or early Saturday. My favorite dish is the Chicken Torta Jalisco. I get every time I go. The Mexican pizza, nachos and wings aren't bad either.
