One of my favorite bars in the JC area. They are creative with their drinks, but also do great twists on the classics. Make sure to ask for Chris as your bartender when you get there. I have not been disappointed with anything when I visit.

I hadn't been here because, frankly, I was kind of on strike after Park & Sixth moved. Plus, every time I walked past on a weekend I would see how crowded it was in there and that's really not my scene. If I'm going to splurge on drinks, I want to be able to sit down and relax and talk to people. But after coming on a weekday evening, I definitely plan to come back.
I came in around 6pm on a weeknight and was about 20 minutes earlier than my friend. So I sat down at the bar and immediately started chatting with the bartender and then another woman at the bar about all kinds of nerdy and interesting things. There were only a handful of people in there, and everyone seemed genuinely friendly. I asked a ton of questions about ingredients and the bartender was a champion about humoring me.
We got two rounds of drinks and both were delicious. After about 7, it started filling up and by 8 there were groups standing -- but I was nice and comfy at the bar! Chris took great care of us and, when we asked him to make us something off-menu for our second round, he asked a couple questions and made us two delicious drinks.
Thanks guys!

Really nice bar with a pretty cool vibe. The drinks are really good and their food is more like appetizers but really good.
The only negatives about this place is that the drinks are a little pricey and space is a little tight on seats.

A very welcome addition to the rapidly growing Jersey City! My girlfriend and I were deciding where we should check out, and since we both love drinks and books we decided this was the place.
It's got a dark, comfortable speakeasy vibe. The front windows are covered by curtains and the seating is comfortable couches and stools. One wall is covered in books that are glued against it. This served as a nice addition to check out while enjoying our cocktails.
All transactions are done up at the bar as they don't have any waitresses, which I was fine with. I ordered "The Old Pal" and my girlfriend ordered "The Dolores". Both were done right and tasted great. My drink was STIFF (and I am NOT complaining about that)! The prices are about what you can expect now, think $11 or $12 for a cocktail. I haven't yet tried the food, but the menu looked appealing and I know I'll be returning soon.

Here on a Wednesday with a live dj. LOVING ALL OF IT. 100% of what's happening is excellent. The food. The drinks. The music. Come to here.
