Great hospitality...nice location...food wasn't all that it's choke up to be .I believe if they change the cooks ...to get someone to give that southern smoke food falling off the bones type of taste ...it would be a awesome place to dine in at ...must admit the cornbread was the best thing I had on the plate. Oh and the severe needs to work on hygiene.

My experience was HORRIBLE. I currently live out of state and was coming home to plan a surprise birthday dinner for my husband. One of the questions that I asked when trying to narrow down which restaurant I should use was "Can my party be seated ahead of time minus 2 people?" I know majority of the restaurants will not seat you unless the entire party is there. So of course I was told yes, and that they would make sure this happened. Well it didn't and I had 10-20 people calling me to tell me they could not be seated (thank god for family). They were able to get this fixed before we arrived. Now my husband and I arrive and the entire set up is as soon as you walk in (front door). Umm very tight and small. I had 25 guest and they only set my table for 21. Then when I spoke with the manager he tells me I'm wrong, and then tells me that he has to seat the remaining party separately because he had other people who were previously waiting. I actually had to have him count how many seats were set up at my table to prove to him that the table was only set for 21. Now he decides to make things right and gives me the VIP room. Okay great this will work. Not!!! The cooling unit was broke and it was leaking out side the bathrooms which is also located by the VIP room. It's super hot and muggy in the room and we have 1 fan blowing on 25 people. We finally order and almost half my party were told after ordering and waiting an hour that they ran out of this or that. The mac and cheese was mushy, the collards came out either to salty for most where they had to send them back, or cold. Not to mention that 4 people had to leave because they were told after everyone else received their food that they didn't have anymore of what they ordered. I've been told that the food is excellent here and it actually might be. However I would definitely tell you not to go their if you have a large group like I did.

The food is good, the service can be hit and miss. I've been there a few times with small groups before the main lunch rush hour. Some servers are attentive and some seem detached. The food has been consistent which makes up for the service. I'd like to experience the dinner and live music on my next visit.

Food is prepared and seasoned well. Portions are generous. Staff is pleasant. But be sure to make sure your dish is actually available before ordering!

Like most places , start out great end up suffering because of poor service ... or particular server ( bartender ) who is more consumed with talking than serving drinks or taking food orders . Recently, I went in for takeout, after waiting several minutes I had to yell to get the attention of the bartender and once I did he responded with an attitude. Once I got home and checked my order I was very disappointed with the presentation. It was certainly not what I expected for the price I paid. I like Duke's but in order for you to be successful bartenders should be better trained in handling the bar.
