I wish I could give 0 stars. We were supposed to have an AWD vehicle to drive to Vermont from NJ. Not only was it not AWD but the tires were in very poor condition, making the car extremely unsafe for driving in the snow and rain we faced. We ended up need roadside assistance and the mechanic was horrified they'd rent us something with tires in that condition. When we complained upon returning the vehicle, Tim D, the manager, didn't seem empathetic at all and was pretty dismissive, said tires not bald so they are fine. When I asked for his superior, he told me that he doesn't report to anyone and my only recourse was to sue. Seriously?

The one good thing I can say is they honored the price...so far. The shuttle was supposed to be there in 10 minutes. Took 30 with my parents freezing while waiting. They forgot to give us our drivers license, then when we got up the next morning the tire was flat. Took it to a shop to be told it was flatbecause it was too worn. Called to report the problem to receive no customer service. When we returned the car, after driving on the spare the entire trip, they wanted us to buy a new tire. We said no because of what the shop said and then they agreed to not charge us. Still worried that they will find something or change their minds and charge the card. Just giving an honest review so be careful.

At the last minute I booked and relieved an excellent rate. I normally use a different chain, but the vehicle I was looking for was not available at a reasonable price. I was a bit concerned since the office was not in the air-park and it required a phone call to alert the shuttle. The bit of extra inconvenience was well worth it. I cannot recommend this Economy (Drivo) location enough. The customer service level was outstanding. I rent dozens of times a year, and I alway have to fight off up sales and the like, even though I am already covered. The exact opposite occurred here. As it was a short rental I inquired about insurance and the representative was honest and explained my credit card coverage. He also offered other cost and time saving tips. I thought I was in the Twighlight Zone, because this never happens at rental car locations. Consistently friendly and helpful, fast service, and they were just as efficient and friendly when I checked out. When I am in Newark, this will be the only car service I will consider. They really went the extra mile, offer everything the business commuter could want. As I mentioned, the only inconvenience is the necessity to confirm your shuttle, but considering the money and time saved, it's really not a problem.

These people are the absolute WORST! I rented from their JFK location on 11/13 for that wknd, first of all they wouldn't honor the priceline agreement of unlimited milage bc I did not have a plane ticket and to make matters even worse, after returning the car and doing a COMPLETE WALK AROUND with ROBERT, they send me a claim 24plus hours later stating I owe them $340 for a broken tail light after refunding my hold of $200. If there was a problem with the car 1; Why wasn't it recognized when Robert and myself did the walk around? 2; Why wasn't it marked down on the return agreement? and 3; Why was the $200 hold refunded if there was damage? Why didn't they just keep it? I'll tell you why, because there was NO DAMAGE! These people are SCAM ARTISTS, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! Upon further investigation I come to find out that this is a common practice of this company, especially their New Jersey location. Renters BEWARE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!

Scam artists with terrible customer service. Absolute worst rental experience ever. Was given the wrong address to rental lot and wrong phone number in a confirmation email: Since I was in Queens, NY, I had to walk 30 minutes to get to rental lot as Drivo refused to pick me up or give any compensation for their error. I was rented a vehicle with a cigarette burn in the seat and scratches on the exterior. Upon returning the vehicle I was billed normally for my rental, and without any notice from the company, received a collections notice a few days later for over $2,000 for a photo of a small scratch, which guessing from the state of my rental, they are not actually fixing. Reported to BBB. Avoid.
