Ive lived in the Drake House for almost 3 years and while its no trump tower, for your money you cant go wrong. The apartments are big with plenty of closet space, updated kitchen and bath, gas cooking, hardwood and ceramic tile floors. Laundry is in the basement, and I rarely have to wait for a machine. Indoor and outdoor parking is available for relatively cheap though I've chosen to park on the street to save money.
The only serious problem I had was when a unit upstairs began leaking water into our bathroom wall. When we realized this happened , we notified maintenance and they had it fixed within a few days (they get a B for that job).
My only real complaint with the apartment is that theres no ventilation in the kitchen (which is somewhat small and closed off). I cook alot which causes a film of (pressumably) grease to build up on all of the cabinets and appliances.
Overall, this place isnt bad and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a decent place to live in the NYC area and doesnt have the money to rent in a luxury building or doesnt want to live in a multi-family house.
