Dr. Minutoli is the best doctor I have ever had and any others I've had since him have to strive to measure up. (I've moved out of NYC or he'd hopefully still be my doctor.) I agree with the other review that he is encouraging to your own wellness. For example, when I first met him, I asked him if he was going to tell me to quit smoking (which I have now!). He said, "No, but if you want to, I have tools at my disposal to help you." Are you going to tell me to lose weight? "No, but if you want you, I will help you do that, too." He's not a sensationalist. I had a friend who got exposed to TB. Do I need to get tested? "Probably not necessary, but if it would make you feel better, come in and I'll do the test." (I did, it was negative.) The thing is, he's a doctor that doesn't push anything on you. I'm older now, and my doctors are constantly trying to push cholesterol-lowering drugs on me (for example), when my cholesterol is just barely above normal and blood pressure meds when my blood pressure isn't high at all and has remained mostly very consistent my whole life. I am not "normal" and neither are you. Your body has its own set of data and Dr. Minutoli recognizes that. Plus, I think he also knows that you are going to do what you want, regardless of what he says. The other wonderful thing I liked about him is he's "there". I never had to wait weeks to get in to see him. I had a problem with my shoulder and he saw me THAT AFTERNOON. Another time, I was throwing up all night. Finally, at around 6 AM on a Sunday morning, I called his service. He got back to me by 7:30 ON A SUNDAY MORNING and phoned in a script to the pharmacy to help me! My doctors now wouldn't call me back on a Sunday morning. I can speak to someone, but not MY doctor, who knows more about me and my situation than someone "on call".
Granted, it's been more than 15 years now since I last saw him. I still miss him!! I'm writing this today because a friend of mine has been sick for WEEKS and can't get in to see a doctor she needs. Ridiculous! We need more doctors like Dr. Minutoli. I still refer to him as the "greatest doctor in the world!" I hope he's doing well.
