I was incredibly disappointed with my visit with Dr. Auerbach in December 2014. I came in to see him about a growth on my arm. He came in and barely glanced at my arm, and just started talking about my skin and eye color as relates to skin cancer. It also became clear during our conversation that he had not read my medical chart, so he did not know about skin cancer in my family. When I told the assistant about my decision, he came in to tell me I was being foolish and only then did he actually try to explain his recommendation. Overall, he came across as overly confident and condescending. It appeared that he saw himself as the expert and that I was a statistic rather than a patient. I have had really positive experiences with two of his colleagues at Bruder Dermatology and would highly recommend seeing them instead, but I will never return to Dr. Auerbach.
