I dont know how many people can honestly say they love going to the dentist, BUT I CAN!
A little bit of back story. I had many issues with my teeth, and without going into major detail with all the problems with them I'll just tell you all that I finally decided to get them fixed. I opted to go to Eastern Dental. If you want to survive your dental work- DO NOT GO TO THEM. They just about killed me on numerous occasions. I had 7 extractions, when it was clearly not the right thing to happen. You never want teeth coming out, unless it's absolutely necessary. I fondly refer to the dentist there as "Godzilla". He was extracting one of my teeth, broke the one in front of it which then caused me to get a root canal. The next dentist started to do the root canal and stopped mid-way through. YES FOLKS...MID-WAY THROUGH! And said that he couldn't proceed tonight because they were closing. He put this little paste on the stub of the tooth and sent me on my way. So the next possible appointment they would put me in to was 3 weeks later. The doctor started drilling and stopped again and said I needed to have a X-ray. Low and behold, a drill bit stuck up in my root. He tried to blame it on previous doctors, but thankfully I had the original x-ray from before they started any work. So they screwed up and now they are going to lie about it... lovely. This was right around Thanksgiving and my fiance and I went down to Atlanta to see his family. The next day I felt some pain, but wasn't horrific. By the end of day three it looked like I was sucking on a lime. My face was so swollen and painful. Thankfully I had antibiotic with me which held me until I got back to New Jersey.
Now the whole purpose of this story is to tell you how I came to Dr. Lukenda. I finally had enough with Eastern, they had butchered my mouth for the last time, and they were not taking accountibility for their mistakes. I reached out to a friend of mine, who recommended Dr. Lukenda. I told them the pain I was in and they saw me immediately (within 2 hours of calling). They diagnosed, made a plan, and helped me correct the course that Eastern Dental had me on. Dr. Lukenda (the son) was knowledgeable, answered all my questions and concerns, and he didn't judge me or my bad teeth. If you are one of those who are worried about pain, there is nothing to be worried about at this place. Trust me, I know pain (two dry sockets courtesy of Eastern Dental). Dr. Lukenda is so concerned with his patients comfort that you if you wince your eye he'll make sure you are still feeling okay. I have seen him just about every week since the start of January. Thank goodness I have insurance, but just to put it in perspective it probably cost about 25k for my whole mouth to be done. (with insurance-it was about 7).
I haven't had pain in my mouth AT ALL since we began all the work. My main concern, that I was going to be able to SMILE for my wedding (only 24 days away!). Not those fake smiles that people question whether or not your actually happy-but a REAL smile. Dr. Lukenda has also made me more confident. I am in sales for a living and I'm able to speak to customers without hiding my smile.
His office staff and hygentists are so sweet! There is one inparticular (you know who you are!!) that is an absolute gem!! She is so much fun to talk to and is beyond helpful.
So all in all would I recommend Dr. Lukenda? Thats a big YES! On top of being a terrific dentist, he's a really cool guy to be around. I can't begin to thank you enough for everything you did. My fiance wants to go see him now, as well as my sister. Anyone living in New Jersey (near or far away) should go see him.
