Dr. Neofitos Stefanides, MD

I found this doc after doing lots of research online. I had frozen shoulder (almost a year after multiple rotator cuff partial tears). I had maybe 10% range of movement and a 5 to 8 level of constant pain - couldn't sleep for months. It turns out I had a very bad case of it with very thick scarring that would never resolve on its own.

After some conventional treatments didn't work (cortisone shots, PT, etc) the doc operated on it in July 2015 doing a manipulation on it followed immediately by a minimally invasive capsular release surgery of the scar tissue - all under general anesthesia. It's now been 3 months and my shoulder has 95% movement and no more constant pain (there's a little pain when I extend it, but I'm sure it will go away in time with continued PT). In short, I'm healed! This is a great doc for shoulders. And if you have surgery, make sure you religiously do your PT!

The only downside is that he is extremely busy. He told me he was seeing 100 patients a day, and it's obvious from the packed waiting room to the average 30 minute wait time you'll experience. I've waited anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour over my many visits to his office in Bayside. As long as you've planned for this wait time, the doctor should exceed your expectations.

My wife went to see this doctor and was very pleased. He listened to all her complaints and concerns, was very patient with her, explained everything. Most helpful doctor ever!

This was the worst experience I ever had at a doctor's office. Wait time was almost two hours. The doctor is arrogant and disrespectful. Arrived on time and when I got upset and complained about the long wait time, the doctor and his staff accused me of arriving late and calling me a liar. After this horrible experience I refused to be seen and immediately left the office. Never recommend this horrible doctor to anyone, total waste of time.

I have been in pain for years suffering from ankle arthritis. I had been to several different doctors, who all did me no good. The pain was unbearable, to the point I could not even walk. Luckily I was referenced to the Doctor Stefanides who was a savior. He was able to diagnose and treat my painful condition. I thanks God every day for my friend who told me to go.
