Dr. Juan A Cortes DO, MD

Hello people,
I just want to give anyone looking into seeing this physician the heads up so that way you all do not go through the horrible experience that my father and myself are currently to this moment still going through. First off, Dr. Juan Cortes, as a physician he is great, very knowledgeable and has great bed side manners. No complaints as far as his knowledge in the practice of medicine. The problem is with his administrative staff. He has this one receptionist, Stephanie, whom never seems to know anything that is going on within the office and refers us to the office manager, Lisandra. Lisandra is another one, first off, she is never there. What is the point in having an office manager that is never at the office to delegate and "manage". Our misfortune with this office occurred when the doctor became out of network with my father's insurance company. Long story short, the office was suppose to reach out to the insurance company to try to obtain an out of network authorization to continue to see my father, office manager well aware that my father needs the follow up care due to open heart surgery, running low on medication and best they did was call pharmacy and give my dad a prescription for 5 refills. What is that? Is that proper medical care? So, I write this review for all hoping that the sour horrible experience we are having with them, no one else goes through them. The physician is great as I stated but his administrative staff is horrible and if you decide to see this physician, be prepared to deal with a lot of running around and just overall crap from them.
The only reason why this review has 1 star is because this review site asks for a minimum of 1 star but honestly, with the bad experience we received at this practice, this practice does not even deserve one star. As for the office, the office itself is not very clean or modern either. Very outdated and old dingy looking with a stench of an old man's fart odor in the air. Sadly, that is true and I am not trying to be comical.

Dr. Cortes is a very nice person, but the front desk is the worse. Unproffesional rude and very nasty girls, can't wait to change PCP.
Every time I call they put you on hold and never go back to talk to you, when I'm at the office I seen them do it all the time, they put people on hold and go back to talk to each other about their plans for the weekend or how their nails are looking nice. Another minus about this office is the long hours of wait, one time I got there at 10:30 and didn't get out there until 2:30, I can't believe I was there for soooo long, and I had an appointment. I really needed to see Dr. Cortes, but never again!

Dr. Cortes is a great family doctor. I trust him as a doctor to take care for my entire family including my wife and daughter.In fact, he saved my life because under his care my cholesterol level has gone down close to a normal range. He listens and cares for you as a person. He educates you and is willing to answer any questions you may have. Based on his medical advice, treatment, and medicine prescribed to me my overall health and attitude has improved dramatically. I am definitely grateful to Dr. Cortes for helping me.

This is a rediculous doctors office they never pick always busy dr never calls patients back and when one goes in with an issue he makes it seem as if it isnt anything important or youre just making it up becuase you're young. I dont reccomend this office to anyone especially if you are a professional individual.

The doctors are fantastic, but i have not waited less than 2 hours any given time to see the doctor, with an appointment...
