There is an old saying those who wait the longest receive the best care. I live in Long Beach quite a distance from Brooklyn. Dr. Novick, and her staff are highly organized w/tremendous amount of patience. There are a few disorderly clients who do come into her office demanding service immediately. This serves as delightful entertainment while you wait. This is why we have waiting rooms to wait. Dr. Novick is a GREAT DERMATOLOGIST. I am 52 years, and many of my colleagues compliment me on my healthy skin complexion. It is because of what Dr. Novick perscribes for my skin. You just have to wait a bit. Have a Great Day :)

this was my first experience with a dermatologist ever and I have to say it wasn't a good one. most of the receptionists are just plain rude and have a bad attitude. on top of that, the wait is absurdly long. i had an appointment at 5:30. I wasn't seen until 7:30. like are you kidding me? so many people in the waiting room were complaining because they too were waiting for about an hour or 2 hours. when I told the doctor about my long wait after finally seeing her, she gave me a stupid and lame excuse. and the best part is.... they tell you to be there on time. wow. for what? to sit for 2 hours? when I saw the doctor she examed me for 5 minutes. (no exagerration). I highly don't recommend this place.

I just left the office of Dr. Etta Novick--without seeing the doctor for my noon appointment. I waited an hour and ten minutes, and the receptionist was still unable to tell me how much longer I'd have to wait. This office was, besides the long wait time, unnecessarily rude. 1. When I walked in, I asked how long the wait was likely to be. The receptionist coldly answered, "I have no idea." 2. I told her I needed to make some calls for my business. (I'm a writer with a busy career.) She said I'd have to do that outside. 3. It was difficult to talk with her because I had to stand on tiptoe to see her. The reception counter was built absurdly high. I am 5'2". 4. I went outside to make business calls that could not wait. After a half hour, she called me in, not to see the doctor, but to collect my insurance cards. I had to hang up on an important call. When I got to the reception desk, again standing on tiptoe, the phone rang: a client. When I picked up, the receptionist summarily dismissed me from the desk, saying, "If you have to be on the phone, we'll take your information later." I hung up because I didn't want to wait any longer than necessary. She then scolded me for being on the phone. I went back outside to return that call. 5. At ten after 1, I went in to retrieve my insurance cards and to tell them I was leaving. There is no doctor great enough to warrant this kind of disrespect. Please note that I rarely if ever write a complaint. But I hate having my time wasted and if you do, too, do not make an appointment with Dr. Novick.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
Highly unprofessional! Receptionists were rude, waiting room and bathrooms were cramped and dirty. Just being in this house (its not a medical building, its the doctor's house) makes you feel as though you are contracting a host of new diseases. GROSS!
Doctor Novick, too, struck me as an entirely unsanitary physician. His lab coat was faded and dirty and he didn't bother to wear gloves, not even when he touched the poison ivy all over my arm. I was horrified.
I paid a $50 copay just to have him see me for 2 minutes and confirm what I already knew. He suggested administering a steroid injection. I refused. The place was so dirty and unprofessional I didn't trust him to put anything in my arm.
I left his office and only then realized that the rude nurses never returned my insurance card. UGH!
In this state, Dr. Novick's only patients will continue to be the poor and uneducated who have no other choice but to sit on top of one another in his cramped waiting room and be subjected to his outdated, unhygienic, abomination of a medical practice.
SHAMEFUL!
