A New York institution. The best place imaginable for jazz, avant garde, free improvisation, noise, and other music of the type. Many rare and used items as well.

The GREATEST place for vinyl, DVDs and anything related to entertainment. I get lost in here for hours. Wish they had one closer to New York, NY County.

As a Saxophone player, I love listening to a little jazz for inspiration and nothing is better than listening to music straight from the record. This is the only play with the right stuff. They also carry a good variety of smaller genres for the minority of people who love them. I come back here as often as possible for more music!

This place is a little tough to find and in a strange location, but it is amazing! They have all kinds of interesting Jazz and Jazz related records and CDs. The prices are good and the selection is truly unique, there is probably no other store with anything even close to the selection at the Downtown Music Gallery.
