We ordered two 3-ft. heroes for a party, an American and Italian.
I believe the Italian included provolone cheese, salami, pepperoncini, bologna, tomatoes, pickled peppers, and eggplant (?). Deliciously light yet evenly generously proportioned with all ingredients, that no ingredient seemed to overpower another. I don't know how they did it, but usually I find myself not being able to taste either the cheese or one of the meats, but I seemed to be able to taste each layer.
The American contained swiss, american, roast beef, turkey, ham, tomato, and lettuce. This hero was a bit more of your typical deli sub, nothing too fascinating, however it is worth nothing that portions were generous and evenly proportioned just like the Italian hero. I found the roast beef to be a bit chewy at times, and you'd either have to use your fingers to pull the roast beef apart, or wind up with the whole piece in your mouth.
I think one of the best parts was how fresh the bread was, soft with a crusty outside. It was neither too thick in either hero so that you don't find yourself eating all bread, nor was it too thin where you would sometimes find the bread getting soggy and the hero falls apart.
