Dirty Bird to-go

Absolutely love this place. They have a great lunch special and best fried chicken in the area

Tasty food, quick service, a little pricey. They recently expanded to add a bar and table service to this location.

How was the ordering experience? So-so. I ordered my food, which went smoothly, but I did have to wait a while for it. Next time, I think I will call in my order on my way to pick it up (a trick I should have remembered this time!) The biggest issue, was that they got my order wrong. I didn’t notice until I was back in my office, ready to eat. I wasn’t too upset about this though, as my 2 pieces of fried chicken on the bone turned into 3 fried chicken fingers.

How delicious was the food? It was actually pretty delicious! Even though I got chicken fingers, they did a good job frying them up to seem closer to actual fried chicken then just some plate of chicken fingers you get at your local pub. I was pretty impressed.

Did it fill me up for $5 or less? It’s complicated. I paid $5.95, but the chicken fingers that I actually received are listed at $4.95. So if I had ordered the chicken fingers from the start, I would have come in under $5 before tax. And I was satisfied. I wouldn’t say I was SUPER full, but it’s probably not a good idea to overfill on fried chicken in the middle of the workday anyway.

Conclusion: I usually take orders that are mixed up with a grain of salt. That happens to every restaurant now and then, and really, the food and the price are what matter most. And the food was very good. I still miss “Piece of Chicken” which closed down a few years ago and had pieces of chicken for $1 each and some pretty great sides as well. However, Dirty Bird to Go is definitely worth checking out.
