I would rate it 5 stars if you didn't have to wait 1-2 hours to get the Pizza, there was place to sit and enjoy it and 1/2 the pie wasn't burnt black. My personal experience was arrival 40 minutes before opening on a Wednesday, my son and I were 2nd on line after waiting 40 minutes we were told that there was a private party and no one was allowed inside (which is a small area that does't accomodate more than a few people), they were taking orders in the street and since we were the first few on line we were told we could eat the pie in an adjoining cafe which seated 6 uncomfortably. The ingredients of the pie, dough is superb and craftily laid down however one person makes the pie and spends so much time on laying out the ingredients on the pie and not turning the pies in the oven hence 1/2 burnt crust. We bought 2 pies and both were burnt on one half. The pie is not good enough for me to go back as the overall experience wasn't worth it. There are many pizza places in NYC that I would prefer to have an enjoyable relaxing great pizza without the hassle. If Di Fara's had the venue and didn't burn the Pie I would rate it as one of the best.

My girlfriend bought into all the hype that she read on reviews, felt we should give it a try even though it's $5 a slice. Long story short, it was garbage pizza, super oily, terrible taste, heart burn x's 10.could've made a better slice of pizza with sliced bread, ragu, and cheap mozerella. Better off going to a $1 pizza shop..

The best pizza in the US (5 stars food). It gets 4 stars only because of the long lines/ wait time and the hit or miss/ on or off nature of the pizza. The round slices tend to be better than the round pies, which are heavily inconsistent and may come out overcooked. The square pies/ slices are more consistent as they take longer to reach an overcooked status. When cooked perfectly, the pizza is out of this world (second only to Ristorante da Ettore in Naples, Italy and other napoli restaurants i may not have tried) and certainly the best in the United States

Best pizza I have ever had. We waited hours but it was worth it. Every pie is made by hand right in front of you, and it's slow cooked and olive oil is poured on halfway through. Every time I hear someone is going to NYC, I tell them they HAVE to come here.

The pizza here is good. is it worth 45 minutes wait, sometime in the rain? I don't think so. It is a cool place, that open and close at weird hours (Check the hours before you come here).
If you are into places that remain the same since the 70's, you may find this place cool. If you are looking for good pizza, try it. If you are hungry right now, go someplace else.
