Every experience at Desert Island is the best. That's gonna sound like hyperbole, but it really isn't. Introduce yourself to the owner, Gabe, and you'll be on your way to finding what you need. Everything I know about about Moebius I learned from him. A great place to check out.

My friends and I jump on the subway about once a year and come here to look. Sometimes we buy something but they are always cool whether we do or not.
I like coming in the summer because after we visit the comic book store, we go over to the new McCarren Pool and get a dip in. Our friend Jimmy Jazzo doesn't care about comics so he goes over to the skate park next to the pool.
Good days.

This is a cute little comic book store nestled in Williamsburg, well worth checking out at least once. In addition to some classic and new comics, it also has a selection of interesting novelty books and magazines. Much smaller than comparable stores, e.g. Galaxy, Mid-Town, among others, but the coziness does add something to its overall ambience. If you're a comics aficionado and live in Brooklyn, you might want to drop by and see what's happening.

One of the best, smartest comic stores in NYC. A mixture of high art and low, of old stuff and new. I mean, c'mon, they trotted out Biologic Show #0 and sold it to me at cover price - how awesome is that?
