Days Inn Iselin - Woodbridge

Worst hotel that I have ever been to. The smell of smoke mixed with curry can give people a heart attack. My group have 18 rooms and all the rooms have the same smell. It was so strong i had to spray half a bottle of air freshener. Would never recommend this hotel to any one. The front desk is an Indian fellow who doesn't even speak English. The location is ok because there is a 7/11 just on the side. Room is a 2/10 because of bad smell and old furnitures. Service is 1/10 because the person doesn't even speak English.

First impression summary: worst hotel i have step foot in. As I open the door to my room, i get hit by a werid smell. It was so strong that I wanted to throw up. My group bought 18 rooms and almost every room have the smell. The smell is like a mix of smoke and Indian food. All the bedsheets look unclean and furniture looks like they belong in a dump. For example, the table is covered in spoiled food stain and it feels like it will fall apart at any moment.

The service is really poor. There are no towels. The rooms promised weren't given to us even though the booking was made 2 months prior. Smells like people smoke inside even though there are no smoking signs and people are not restricted.

Manager was very rude. My family and I came on a tour and the hotel was arranged by the tour company. He assumed we had breakfast in the morning as there was a sign saying complimentary breakfast. (our fault for not asking) . We weren't supposed to have breakfast but we had already taken food , the manager makes a scene in front of all other guest in a loud voice saying "tour groups don't get breakfast","I am going to charge you","I am going to report you to your lead" and kept on going . he didn't even listen to us when we were trying to apologize and make a payment for our meal. Instead he stands in the pantry right across our table , pulls out his phone and takes a picture of us like we were some animals in the zoo and he just walks away.

After a few moments, when the heat of the situation was down, I approached him and mentioned that he need not be rude, we can always pay for our meal.

There was no reason to behave the way he did, especially being in the hospitality industry, all he has to do was approach us and let us know in a calm manner and tell us how much it would cost instead of humiliating us in front of everyone at the breakfast area.

PS: the breakfast is by far one of the worst continental breakfast, they only had bread, butter , EMPTY BOWL FOR JELLY, cake donuts, oatmeal, coffee ,EMPTY JUICE MACHINE

Furthermore the bathroom in the room was dirty, the grout between the tiles needed a scrub and so did the shower head, they were covered with black and red stains

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. My family and I would have left if we had a different choice.

First room I was given smelled like they smoked boxes of cigarettes. After complaining to the clerk he offered to spray the room to make the room smell better. The second room looked better but there is a urine smell, rugs look dirty, no microwave, no irons or ironing boards. The mattresses sink when you sit on them. The bed sheets and pillows look dirty as well. The towels are dingy. If you ask for an extra blanket or bed sheet, front desk makes a big deal and wants to charge you an additional $10.00. Not only do they allow cigarette smoking in rooms, guests smoke marijuana in the rooms too. You can smell it in the hallway. During our stay, there were guests hanging out, and slamming doors. These guests looked sketchy. This hotel is more like a shelter motel. Would not recommend anyone to stay in the hotel.
