Dr. Altchek is a top notch surgeon at world-famous Hospital for Special Surgery. He is the team surgeon for the NY Mets as well as the US Tennis Team. Extremely busy, hard to get an appointment without an inside-track referral.

Ultra competent and dedicated to fixing your problem. My situation was rare and somewhat complex, requiring 2 different surgeries including one 4-hour procedure. I felt completely confident in Dr. Altchek's approach, expertise, skills, and dedication.

The typical consultation lasts less than 2 minutes, but Dr. Altchek is a very careful listener and has a positive bedside manner that inspires confidence.

Outstanding Physician Assistant (Keith) and support staff; very competent administratively. Having surgery at HSS ensures you get world class care and nice people to boot.

Preop consultations cost $400, and they don't take insurance for these. For surgery they do take insurance and will deal with your insurer(s) directly. Post-op follow-up visits are free.
