David Shannon Florist & Nursery

This florist seems pretty big on the outside, but is one of those places that once you walk in, you're amazed that it all fits on one block. The Wal-Mart (in size, not prices) of floral/gardening needs, has everything you could imagine you need or didn't know you need to get your gardening started. Need them to pot a windowbox for you? No problem, they'll charge you a few dollars and you should tip, but it's so worth getting all of the supplies home and struggling to make it perfect. Every associate has a green thumb (and green shirts), so make sure you take advantage of their knowledge so you have the nicest garden on the block.
An added shoutout to the family at David Shannon for helping me pick out my first real Christmas tree at a super reasonable price!

We love these guys. They run an excellent nursery with lots of nice stuff on hand throughout the season. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a definite step up from the generic garden centers at Home Depot or the various little hole-in-wall shops around Brooklyn.
