David Azar DDS

I had 2 cavities filled in early July, one was a gum line cavity, and the other a normal filling of a cavity on the chewing surface. Both teeth were located towards the back of my mouth.

The dentist administered 2 shots of novocaine, the first of which definitely hurt.  While my recovery after having the cavities filled seemed to go ok, the teeth in question began to feel more sensitive, and the sensitivity did not wear off after 2 weeks, after which I started wondering if this was normal.

I went in to see Dr. Azar for a second opinion as he came highly recommended by a friend, and the news he had for me wasn't great to hear. He recommended removing the cavities to see if they hadn't properly bonded to the teeth or if the nerve had been affected.

By this point, I had stopped chewing on the left side of my mouth thanks to the sensitivity. So while I didn't want to have the cavities ripped out and redone, I knew it was the probably the only solution that could improve things.

Dr Azar was very knowledgeable on the topic and assured me that there were options once the cause of the sensitivity was determined, so I decided to move forward with his recommendations.

Not only was his administering of anaesthesia a lot more professional, he spent a solid hour and a half working on the cavities. He was very thorough and let me know what to expect at every step.  He took his time to make sure he did a perfect job.

At the end he and Grace the office manager explained what I could expect and gave me explicit instructions on how to manage any pain, and what to do in case of emergencies. I was thankful for that.

I am even more thankful now, as the sensitivity is gone! I can hardly believe I can brush my teeth or drink cold water again without wincing. I am very glad I found Dr. Azar and went with his recommendations.

Going to the dentist is not something I ever look forward to. But Dr. Azar and his staff makes it a very pleasant and bearable experience. First of all they are very respectful of your time: They never leave you forever in the waiting area - they are always ready to see you as soon as you arrive on time for your appointment. Everyone is friendly and professional: The receptionist is very helpful and easy to talk to, the hygienists are pleasant and thorough and Dr. Azar is easy to get along with and does a great job. The office is nicely decorated, bright and inviting. I could go on with with many more good things to say. For those reasons and may other positive ones, I strongly recommend Dr. Azar - he's worth it.

Dr. Azar has been my dentist for over 14 years and his attention to detail has always been exceptional. His office staff are warm and caring and I never have to wait. Dr. Azar has performed root canals, filled cavities and applied crowns to my teeth ,each time applying is skill to insure that his work will last decades . I trust and highly recommend his practice to people who are looking for the highest quality dentistry possible.
