I wanted to thank Daughters of Miriam Center for helping my mom regain some of her old spunk. After moving into the apartments she is like a whole new person - she loves living there.

Every day Daughters of Miriam Center impresses me with the care and compassion they show my mother. They are constantly trying to relate to her and I thank you for the wonderful work you do.

There is absoultely nothing they are great at the workers are treated poorly and the patients also they only tighten up when they state is around and when the rabi comes around workers sometimes work for 12 13 hours with no break and they treat them like crap especially the 2 managers the only one that does his work is ray and other than the the two female managers LOVE to give hours to her people from her nationality only if there was a way the state can just sneak in and catch them in the act

My Mother is there 2 months (She is 92) and things have been going well....she had been in Alaris Kearny, which was a nightmare. This facility is clean, staff is good, she is eating better and has gained back some of the weight she lost (she fell in her apt. and year ago), and the physical therapists got her walking with a rolling walker, no more wheelchair, and she is sitting in an arm chair! I tried to get her in Daughters of Miriam in late September 2014, but she did not have Medicaid,,,she finally got it in late January 2015, and many people told us not to move her, she had been there several months and that a move may be traumatic (she was at a rehab for 7 wks. prior). In early June, I got disgusted and contacted the administrator, Fred Feinstein, explained the situation; he had his secretary fax an application to me, I had my Mother's medical records faxed over and transferred 4 days later! Her attitude is better, she is participating in a workshop where she gets paid for stuffing envelopes(!), patients with severe dementia are on the 3rd and 4th floors, with an excellent security system so that they are safe and cannot even get on an elevator, and we actually feel good when we leave the facility when we visit. Yes, it is a nursing home and not where you want a loved one to be, but it is a good facility. They have had indoor and outdoor barbecues every week or two, which is nice, and there is entertainment and also activities during weekdays; unfortunately, there is nothing on the weekend, or I would have given a 5-star review.

My Aunt had stayed at Daughters of Miriam for a few years. It was obvious how much the staff cared about each and every person there. Their patience and dedication over the years is much appreciated.
