While the food was excellent, the service was not. While we were there, another table near by was scammed by a waiter, seemingly because they were foreign. He told them that 18% gratuity was mandatory (it was not) and his calculated gratuity was over 20%. The women at the table politely told him it was wrong and calculated it properly in front of him but he maintained he was correct and absolutely refused to get the manger (who was not even busy). For us, the waiter did not interact with us after taking out order. Others served our drinks, our food, and eventually our check after we waited for it for 15 minutes. At which point we noticed several issues with our check: we were charged $18 for water (according to the waiter that is a fair price in NYC...), charged $5 extra for salad, and a mysterious $7.50 tax fee. Great food served by scam artist wait staff.
