The area is all right pretty quiet the apartment units are okay I guess the AC unit is super loud in the living room. Staff are pretty rude don't like to be disturbed but get the job done. No View all the windows are facing each other no privacy 90% of the residents are retired or depending on the government such as Section 8 Social Security you get the point so that results in all day looking out the window being nosey sitting outside smoking cigarettes all day with nothing to do now that the government takes care of the bills/rent Crossroad Garden Apartment increases the rent $45 to $50 per year. Good luck to the people without government help that work 80+ hours every two weeks like me.

If you like your apartment as hot as can be, then this is the place for YOU! Apparently I have a unit that is next to the "boiler room", and therefore, high temps are part of the deal. However, 80+ degree temps during the winter (I wore shorts every time that I was home this winter, and had to turn on my AC unit MULTIPLE times) and 90+ degree temps in the summer are the norm here. I get home from softball at 12:30am when it's 75-85 degrees outside, and it's 94 degrees in my apartment! Having a second floor unit traps heat, but I get no breeze at all during the day or at night. The buildings are set up so that most of the units do not get good air circulation, and when the only AC unit provided is a wall unit in the living room; and it doesn't make much difference. It is pointless to have the AC unit in the living room when I sleep in the bedroom. The AC unit keeps cool a space of about 5' x 12' directly around it; every other room is like an oven. When I move from the area around the AC into the kitchen, it is like getting hit in the face with a hot iron. There is no way I would’ve chosen this place had I not been displaced from another apartment due to Hurricane Irene. I needed a place to live, and this place was close and had available units. However, for the money, the only good thing about this apartment is that it’s spacious. If you can find a roommate, you can split a 2-bed somewhere nicer and pay about the same per person. If you are looking for a new apartment, do not even bother stopping by here. I cannot WAIT to move out in a little more than a month! Never again will I live in a place that does not have central air!
