Came here with medium-longish hair wanting a pixie. Michael, while socially a tad awkward, got right to work without the obligatory small talk, which I was grateful for. He moved at warp speed cutting off my hair and I didnt have time to consider if it was a mistake. thankfully, it was not; the cut looked fabulous and I left wondering why I hadnt done it sooner.

Gave me my best haircut ever, went to him for my wedding hair, would go to him always; professional, sharp, best haircuts for good money, and I am very VERY picky about where I go to get my hair. My best haircut by him was under 45$, while I paid 160$ elsewhere to have some idiots ruin my hair completely. He will not advise you to highlight or bleach if it is a bad idea. Should have never gone elsewhere from the get. Michael is the absolute best.

Well thankfully he cut my hair since im not a girl ! but Ia mature woman, who has always gone to the best cutters since I have fine hair and a problem hairline.
Michael, gave me one of the best haircuts Ive had in years. I recall another haircut I could compare him to when I lived in LA and John Peters cut my hair . this guy is a great hair cutter.............a bit peculiar........but ...........hey.....who cares!!

I went to see Michael today, 13 years after my original desire to do so. I had a pixie cut a few hours ago, but it wasn't very professional or stylish. His shop has a certain classical ambience, and you can tell right away he is more about his craft than impressing clients with unecessary bells and whistles. I have read some very offensive reviews against his character, even people's personal opinions about him which I feel are uncalled for. Granted, everyone has their own experiences with a person, which can be a result of various things. I got lost making my 4 pm appointment and was a little late, for which he did not show any negativity. He listened to me and was very pleasant. I am of mixed ethnic backgrounds and have been to plenty lf places where I have been doscriminated and treated differently because of the texture of my hair but that wasn't the case here. I noticed he had a hard time untangling my hair, I offered to help but he refused politely and just switch brushes. He did engage in converaation with me, we spoke about where I am from, the history of the eccentric music he was listening to,and current events. He may not come off as a conversationalist, seems a bit on the shy side, but he was polite and reciprocal in the conversation, we even cracked a few jokes. At the time of paying I was short $4 because I didn't realize he was cash only, he told me it was fine, but I insisted he held on to my ID while I crossed the street to the ATM for which he declined and said it wasn't necessary. He did not seem the least bit angry or displeased. While he was cutting if I would make comments as to what I wanted he was nothing but conplacent, not pushy or arrogant. I love my cut, and not only am I going back, but I am recommending him to all my friends and family. It is possible for someone to have a bad day, or just not have good personal chemistry with you, does not make it okay to bash them personally knowing they make a living out of their reputation. I am glad I trusted my gut and paid him a visit. The man's experience and dexterity in his craft should be more than enough reason to give him a shot if you are on the fence.

I use to have a pixie cut years ago after much debate I decided to take the plunge and do it again. I was devastated to find out the person who use to cut my hair had left the country. So I found someone local who said she could give me the look I wanted and after chopping off my long hair I was so disappointed with the cut so I did my research and let it grow out some. After much research I decided to give Michael a shot and boy was I pleased. I had read the negative reviews about his personality but honestly I wasnt looking to make a friend I would rather go to someone who's an ass but great at what they do than go to a really nice person who sucks. Micheal isn't takative and likes old mountain wagon music (that's the best I can describe wjat he played on the radio) but is great at his craft. I will travel all the way from the south Bronx to get my cut from him!!!
