Kevin, who is the manager, and Rene have always taken great care of me. Beautiful shoes. If only I had a bigger closet!

I have been wearing Crockett and Jones shoes for about ten years now and, I must say that I have always been quite pleased with the durability and performance of the shoe. Fortuneatly I have had the oppertunity to visit the Stores in London and Paris to make purchases as I have needed. I have been wearing the Lanark which is a double welt shoe that has been reciently discontinued. When I arrived at the NYC store a bit after opening on Saturday I found a store attendant assisting a couple, who was in the process of trying on a shoe. I waited for some ten minutes with out even being greeted by the sales person. When finnaly I was greeted the sales person told me that my shoe was no longer being made and that if I wanted anything like it it would cost $825.00, at which point he turned his back to me and went into the rear to retreave another shoe for the person there before me. Never did he suggest another shoe or alternative I was simply dismissed from the store. Now maybe the sales person responded the way he did because I was wearing shorts and a pullover shirt, but in todays economy can you take the chance that I was not there to buy? I did find the Lamont on line, a Crockett and Jones alternative to the Lanark for 325 pounds. It is being shipped from another Crockett and Jones retailer in London. Shipping included.
I suggest that Crockett and Jones school thier American employees on good old English manners, if they want a store here to be a success.
