This is so NOT a "RACE" issue. Regardless of the shade of one's skin, the profoundly unfriendly sales associates treat most people with the same air of contempt.
The attitudes exhibited toward customers are best summed up by these two words, disdain and indifference.
And, forget it if you ask them a question about an item; the look on their faces reveal such effrontery that you would even deign to disturb them.
This attitude, this conceit, that "They" are doing "YOU" a favor by acknowledging you, is stunning!
It doesn't end at the register either. Upon checking your items out, they never make eye contact with you or smile or show ANY sign of friendliness. They do however talk between themselves while pretending that the customer handing over their money or charge card barely exists; further cementing their utter lack of customer service.
This is a wonderful store offering wonderful products. It is a store in which I look forward shopping in however, the attitudes of these associates must change as they are doing a great disservice to the store's image.

I love this place and own a lot of furniture, dishware, and many other things from them, but I've had such bad experience with them and their delivery. Took 4 different deliveries to get a table and four chairs and when I ordered my couch it came without the sectional. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because they did refund me my delivery charge and the manager did send me a gift card as a gesture.

I completely agree that they are rude and narcissistic. They allow customers being helped to cut the line which is not fair to others. Act rude yourself and they'll treat you as their own.

Purchased an ice cream scooper that oxidized after I washed it a few times. Brought it in for an exchange or an explanation. Salesperson seemed annoyed and incredulous that I had the nerve to try to return a $16.95 item. Nevertheless, she went into the back to speak to her manager about this matter and returned over 20 minutes later only to tell me, "We can't take this back, it's used"! "It oxidized b/c u washed it with detergent. You're not suppose to do that".
I had been a big fan of C &B. In fact, I had my bridal registry there. Sadly, for them I'm sure, I will not longer be purchasing anything from them - even if someone I know requests a gift from there. I don't feel like I was being irrational with my request, but their customer service approach made me feel that way! Perhaps, I would consider return for their "Going Out of Business" sale.
