Really enjoyed this place. They were busy but the service was still good. Drink specials were excellent. Attentive staff mixed with great atmosphere equals an awesome time.

We had high hopes for this place since it has such amazing reviews but our experience was awful. We went for Sunday brunch and there was nobody to greet us when we walked in. Finally after 5 minutes someone just walked by and said to sit at the bar and ran off. I get they were busy but still. Then we sat down and it took another 10-15 minutes just to get a menu. It was so loud we could barely even hear one another and thats the last thing you want to deal with on a Sunday morning. We finally just walked out after waiting another 15 minutes for someone to take our order (nobody had even offered to get us water at this point). Sorry but never going there again, don't care what the reviews say. Only good thing was once we left, we found another brunch place in Nutley nearby that was way better so the trip wasn't a total waste.

Old time feel to it. Good food. Good craft beer. The bartenders are really attentive and personable.

We're so happy Cowan's opened. We enjoy the cool atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, interesting and delicious food, the beer selection is outstanding and changes just enough to keep your taste buds happy! The cocktails are also yummy and wine list has good selections - the Rose is a nice addition!

Great food, great beer selection, cool atmosphere and great service. Just what the area needed.
