Courtyard Newark Downtown

The neighborhood is a little bit sketchy I am not gonna lie. However, once inside the hotel you would have NO idea, it is beautiful and very clean, rooms are spacious, updated and and very nice. It's a good place to stay if you are on a budget and cannot afford to stay in the city, which was our case over New Years Eve, they have a shuttle that takes you too and from Newark Penn Station and that will take you directly into New York City. Great Hotel!!

Despite being in a bit of a sketch neighborhood, the Courtyard is very nice. Everything you have come to expect from this brand. Rooms are clean and comfortable with staff quite friendly. I did not use the gym or other services. Do yourself a favor and walk to Hobby's Deli. It's amazing.

I was here for kcon16ny. It was very convenient, parking was cheap and it was really convenient to be able to grab a coffee between events.

Courtyard Newark downtown was reasonably priced. Very nice and clean inside and out. Bed was very comfortable. There was a small section next to the check in desk where you could purchase snacks/drinks/toiletries etc. There was also a little restauran off to the side where you could sit and eat. The menu was not very extensive but had a little something for everyone.
The only downside is that there isn't free parking. The prudential center parking garage is attached to the courtyard. So you can park there and access the hotel from the 2nd level of the garage.
All in all it was a nice hotel and convenient for an overnight stay.

Meets expectations of the Marriott Courtyard brand. Clean rooms, good wifi, helpful staff. I had to have dry cleaning done and they were able to get it done in the timeline I needed. The only drawback - UBER drivers are sent to the wrong side of the street if you request a pick up from this hotel, not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you use UBER frequently.
