Great spot. Like the other reviews, the owner is super cool and knowledgeable and its always a good time talking shop with him as well as the patrons. Straight up good beer and people with no frills attached. As it should be!

If you like craft beer, you like this bar. This place stocks the good stuff, and the owner knows his beer. It's a friendly, laid-back vibe - we usually end up chatting with half the folks at the bar. Best beer bar in the area, and we're so glad to have them nearby!

This is the place to find artisan beers in the area. A whole-in-the-wall kind of place with a decent bar and a few tables, but clean tap lines and a rotating selections of local and imported beers. They run about 20-25 beers and carry about 30 other bottled or canned beers. The owner/bartender is very knowledgable as are many of the regulars. The owner is really passionate about his beers. If you ask for something hoppy he'll quote the IBU of several beers. He'll discuss sours or the brewing habits of the brewmasters he met in Vermont or Delaware, and serve those beers.
I was referred to the place by a waitress from The Shannon Rose (one of those Manhattan-modeled fake-authetic-look Guinness factory outlet bars) when I started talking about some beers other than the more common ones serverd there. I consistently see bartenders from other bars there, too, which says a lot for the place.
It is not quite a dive bar, but the best place to be for beer within a good 15 miles - excluding about 4-6 bars in NYC.
