Boring food, mediocre service, awful policies. I asked once about seating but the hostess had an attitude about not seating until the entire party arrived, as if I had already asked her 10 times. Okay, I get that it's normally busy but it was 15 degrees F outside, there was 3 feet of snow, our party of 4 was coming in from all over the city, and there were at least 5 empty tables. At least let two of us start ordering because we're starving. The menu was somewhat limited and nothing really jumped out. I ended up getting the fried egg sandwich and some coffee. It was nothing special, except maybe for the eyelash floating in the milk. All I know is that I won't be trekking all the way from Murray Hill anytime soon.

Loved everything- the cheese grits, the biscuits and jam, and especially the egg and cheese sandwich. Highly recommended, great vibe and service. Be prepared for a wait during brunch.

One of the best sit-down restaurants west of 9th street. Simple food with an atmosphere that's very casual but somehow still elegant enough to be a decent date spot

Came here for brunch during a company outing, and I was thoroughly impressed by the waitstaff's professionalism and utmost concern to ensure that my chosen dish is lactose-free.
All of the dishes we ordered were as tasty as they looked. Though the only thing I could comfortably order was just porridge (which was pricey for what it was), it was quite sumptuous.

Cookshop is a bustling restaurant with lots of light and seasonal appointments throughout the space that I love. It's extremely busy for brunch. I've eaten there and at their other restaurants numerous times. The food is good. I recently had dessert there. The cheese plate, featured a lonely, small, overripe piece of cheese and a pear compote that looked like baby food. The flatbread that came with it were tasty. I felt it was not good value for the $14.00 price. One other hand our apple pie dessert was generous and delish.
