Went here for an eye exam and to get new glasses twice the woman told me my insurance wouldn't cover either so I left and called my insurance which they assured me I was so I went back since this is the only place I could find that carried the glasses I wanted she told me again no and gave me a higher price to pay out of pocket for the frames than what another woman who was there working previously gave me that week so ridiculous I ended up going to another place and indeed my insurance covered both my exam and glasses ..so overall with this specific location crappy service, very rude even when I went out of my way to be polite the whole time so don't even waste your time here they will try to get more money out of you no doubt

I don't even know where to begin, so, I'll start off with my semi-dramatic back story. In December I was struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian. My very expensive Chanel eye glasses flew into the air, cracked in half by the bridge and the bottom of the left frame. For three and a half months I’ve been walking around with my glasses crazy glued and I had to re-glue them on three occasions. Since I’m a driver, my anxiety level was at an all-time high – thinking at any time while I’m the Belt Parkway they’d just fall apart and I’d wind up driving straight into a pole or another car.

My beautiful limited Chanel glasses were gifted to me. I cried when they broke 1) because they were a gift; 2) because I couldn't immediately afford a good pair of frames like these myself while paying student loans. I was hoping a settlement would come through to pay for them, but since I won't be holding my breath, I bit the bullet and on a whim I walked into Cohen's Optical at 414 86th Street in Bay Ridge. The best decision I've made in a very long time.

Dr. Alexis Kapoian and staff were at the height of true professionalism. I want to thank Dr. Kapoian, Yana, Alla, and Ínez, even the girl who gave me a ponytail holder, for all their efforts in assisting me in finding a beautiful frame, quality lenses, and most importantly assisting me in the financial help I needed via Care Credit. I truly walked away from this experience with deep gratitude and amazement at their patience, honesty, and kindness. Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting humanity back into customer service.

I invite everyone in the community to please give this store a chance with your business. I will be referring everyone I know to this Cohen’s Optical. They won’t let you down. Thank you again for the Mitzvah!

Just made a phone call and the girl was very nasty on the phone. Hate that. Wont be going there.

This store has the classic bait and switch. They have a sign that say $100 for glasses as long as you choose select frames. I choose frames get the exam and then I'm told it over $350 because of the perscription. I knew it would cost me a little extra but even though I choose their cheap frames I was told I would not get the discount on the frames or the eye exam because I have astigmatism. Aviod this place, go someplace that will at least be honest with you.

I was gently approached by a salesman by the name of Nick. He was very professional, patient, and knowledgeable of exactly what I was looking for. He considered my style and shape of my face. I shopped around to other stores, but found myself going back to Nick and the quality of service. He also worked out the price! Ask for him!
