Wonderfully intimate theater experience. We saw a production of OTHELLO which was a modern adaptation. Very creative and well done. Really hated to see it end, could have stayed a few more hours! Check their schedule, lots of great actors and shows upcoming.

Great stage company. Many remarkable productions and a great showcase for theater professionals across the board including designers, directors, performers and back stage production pros.

A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY

The Classic Stage Company’s version of Ivan Turgenev’s play, “A Month in the Country” was translated by John Christopher Jones and directed by Erica Schmidt for an intimate theatre in the round and we really didn’t like it. We found the translation stilted and dated. We found ourselves watching more backs than fronts. It’s the second time we’ve been to CSC and I remember leaving at half time the first time though I don’t remember what we saw and Dale doesn’t remember having been there………this time we stayed the course.

Taylor Schilling and Peter Dinklage lead a large cast of talented actors but, for us, the play just misses. Not to worry, CSC has a large group of supporters who love what they do and getting a ticket online can be difficult.
