I have taken many pottery classes over the years and have always worked on the wheel. While thoroughly enjoyable, I was blown away by the variety of creative, hand-building ideas I saw come alive in clay at Choplet. I went to the studio to observe a class on a January night 2 and a half years ago. What struck me was how every student was working on a different project, some hand building, some throwing on the wheel. Needless to say, I have been a student ever since and have not yet gone back to the wheel. I am happy with the other "hand-builders" in the class and thrilled with my progress as an artist. I have seen many students go from beginners - both hand-builders and wheel-throwers - to selling their work and getting orders to produce. The support and collaboration that I have with my instructor has been invaluable. If I have an idea, she helps me realize it. And, lets not forget the studio dog, Cosmo. Always there to greet you, but more often napping away blissfully. He makes life very cozy at Choplet. Come join us. You wont be disappointed!

Great space, friendly teachers, warm community... an excellent place for beginning and more advanced students. There is a lot of open studio time and a convenient class schedule. The gallery is full of beautiful work. Highly recommended.
