China Paradise

Made a reservation. Arrived 10 minutes early and still had to wait an additional 10 minutes after our reservation time (not the end of the world).

After we sat down they took our drink order. I'm not sure who's fault it was, bar or waiter, but it took 15 minutes before our drinks were finally brought to the table. Mixed drinks were very weak and improperly made (Blue Hawaiian was green). Bar service war terrible from there on out. Drinks were constantly being forgotten and taking a long time to come to out when reminded.

Food arrived after a long time as well. My food was actually pretty good, which is why I didn't give one star, although a few of the people at the table complained that their food was cold.

The food is about average. I really like the bar and the appetizers. Tommy is a terrific bartender. I don't know if he still works there.

Great food an drinks, great service, has become expensive. Whoever wrote the review about the buffet, wrong place, China Paradise does not have a buffet.

My husband and I have been loyal customers of China Paradise since 1998 when we moved to Wayne. Since 2008, the service and quality have declined, but we remained loyal since we knew the place and there are not a lot of other Chinese restaurants in Wayne. Even when I didn't want Chinese food, my husband and I would go and sit in the bar; he would eat and we would share a glass or two of wine. After our experience tonight, however, we will not return. We ordered food to go, then decided to eat it at the bar; we'd done this often in the past. Tonight, rather than present a meal, the hostess brought us a bag with paper plates. We offered to pay EXTRA in order to be served on ceramic plates. The hostess sighed loudly and walked away.
While the bartender was gracious and tried to smooth things over, the manager and hostess cursed us and we left the restaurant with another patron who experienced the same treatment. We are sad to say that we will no longer be frequenting China Paradise.
