Arroz chaufa is the best

Kinda taken by surprise here. I walked in out of the blue cause it was the only place open after 9pm in the area (was actually looking to try "el chevere" peruvian but they were closed and this place was nearby). After asking for a menu and seeing it was in spanish, figured we would give it a shot. One section of the menu had a heading that read "Patos" - I thought it was a chinese misspelling of the spanish word for "plate". Had to be, cause otherwise it meant "duck". Right? Wrong! Effin' duck galore in this place. They prep it any way you want it. I had the "peking". It wasn't the dish I was accustomed to (no thin tortilla-like bread to roll it in, no scallions or cucumber) - but it was surprisingly good. The skin was thin and crunchy and the meat was very tasty. Also had some "chaufa" - which is actually fried rice with any combination of animal protein you like, be it furry, feathery, or even prone to swim. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely keep this place in mind whenever I'm in the area. Well worth a visit.
