Chesler Plywood

I never even got to the purchasing level. I went to request to see if they sold a specific type of wood. The "knowledgeable" clerk was incredibly rude to me. He had never heard of Imbuia (Brazilian Walnut). I said I was looking for a similar type of wood. He said he had never heard of it and would likely be expensive with the attitude of "you cannot afford this wood" as if it were my privilege to buy from them. It is their privilege to have customers. I left. I have no interest in doing expensive business with people who suggest " I cannot afford something while also implying I am ignorant. It is a shame as I believe in supporting local businesses. This is one local business I will make sure never to support. No reference from me, ever.

The price these guys charge is never in line with the rest of the industry. If I show them a competitors bill they can never match it. They also give me an attitude if I ask them for a competitive price. They make it difficult to do business with them. Then they complain when I don't call them when I need material.

Chesler Plywood has a great selection on Long Island and NYC. They deliver to our locations in Connecticut, New Jersey and Westchester. My cabinet company has bought from them many times and the service cant be beat.
