Reviews to Check Engine, Etc.
The repair is shop is the epitome of why people hate mechanics. The owners, Sergey and Volodya, curse out their customers, call them retarded, and rip people off. Be ready to fork over $100 MINIMUM, get no support, and get treated like shit.
You are better off taking your business anywhere else than these people.

CAR: Automatic 2002 TOYOTA RAV4
FROM: Automatic Auto Finance (AAF) Springdale, AR.
I bought my car used from the AAF car dealership in Springdale, AR. I didn't have great credit so this car costed me a lot of interest, which is expected. However, after driving the car for a while, at around 70,000 miles, it started jumping from speeds of 60mph to 40mph, and back and forth. It was crazy to drive it on the freeway. I did research and went to different places and found out that it was a transmission problem and it was going to cost about $2-3000 dollars. I did more research and found out the problem could also be the ECM box. I would rather spend the $250 to see first if it was it, than to drop $2-3 grand first. It turns out the ECM box really was the problem- and Check Engine was able to fix it! YAY! I basically followed their instructions on their website on how to carefully remove the ECM box. I mailed it express with certification. I sent my paypal payments as well and made sure that was tracked. Finally about 4 days later I got my ECM box back. It was truly fast (From Arkansas to NYC). At least that's fast to ME. I put the box back in, let it run idle as instructed. Now I have no problem driving from Arkansas to NY to visit my family or CA to visit my husband's family.
YES they can fix the 2002 TOYOTA RAV4 make/model cars that have the ECM box problem- it seems the jumping gears/speeds is often mistakened for a transmission problem- but it could be because people still drive the car with poor ECM and so were not able to see the problem- which they should have detected earlier. 3 years later, I still have my RAV4 right now, same car. It now has 110,000 miles on it, and thanks to these guys, it will live with me for up to 220,000 miles. These cars will last as long as you properly take care of them. I guess most people should see the grand scheme of things that I spent $250 to check to see if the ECM was the problem rather than $2500 and blindly pay that. Advice: NEVER wait for your car to get worse. As soon as you detect or notice something COULD be wrong- do something about it right away. Taking care of things is like taking care of a child- it is dependent of our control, and if it gets sick and uncared for, it WILL die. (Cheesey analogy, but people DO get lazy sometimes...) I hope this review helps- I noticed sometimes we need specific information on here to help others. Good luck!

I feel like someone needs to set the record straight here. I do not know this shop owner personally, but I do know him by reputation. He is almost in a class by himself. In addition to his own personal technical ability, his shop is unique in that he has invested a huge sum of money in factory diagnostic equipment. These factory "scan tools" are orders of magnitude more expensive than the generic OBD-II instruments most shops use. Each car line requires its own separate tool, which quite easily can cost well over $10,000 each. I believe the Mercedes Benz tool alone is $24,000. The advantage of these tools is that they provide far, far more information. This additional information enables the technician to diagnose problems that are too difficult for the average shop to deal with. If he does not charge to "check the computer," then how, may I ask, can he recoup this enormous investment? Far from being a "ripoff," This shop is an incredibly valuable resource for those living in the New York area.
