After waiting 45 minutes for our salads and an additional 45 minutes for our entrees, which still hadn't come, we left the restaurant. We would not wait any longer. The helpless waiter explained that it was the first time the newly expanded restaurant opened and the kitchen was unprepared. The manager implied that the kitchen was being uncooperative. Not only were we sitting without our food, but we were cold as well. Every time the door was open, the frigid air swept across the dining room. A total fiasco. (Saturday, February 13, 2016)

I want to start by the saying that food is wonderful. The chef, Emma , really knows how to cook! The breads to start are warm and yummy and followed by a delicious dinner.
What I must say is that the service is another thing.
I have eaten here a number of times and the service is pretty much the same...not good....
It started by the fact we had to ask for bread and water. When we asked for refills on our water, the water boy took all four glasses and lined them up and didn't remember which glass belonged to who. Luckily, we had kept a watchful on the glasses.
When we placed our , we were told about 1/2 hour later that the item that my husband had ordered was no longer available.
When the food was brought, the waiter placed two entrees on the table , to then take them away and because he said they belonged to another table. He then walked away and brought them to another table , after they were already served to our table.
It was followed by .....when the soup was being brought to the table , he passed it over my friend and handed it to her husband. That is a no no....
We then were brought the wrong dessert and my husband's "freshly " brewed coffee that was brought almost after we were all finished with our desserts...smelled and tasted as if it were sitting for awhile.
The reason , why I have written this critique is because the food is AMAZING but the service is terrible.
I have eaten there a number of times, lunch and dinner + the service is always the same.

Came here with a group of 8 for high tea. We had made reservations and were immediately seated upon arrival. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and super helpful in answering our questions when it was time to order.
All of us got the tea service while some of us ordered other things. The only other thing I tried was the french onion soup. The soup was delicious, better than Maison Kayser's version. It was overly salted. A good amount of onions. A rich an in-depth flavor to the soup/broth. I would highly recommend this dish.
As for the tea service, I had the lemon grass green tea and it was tasteful. Had tons of aromatics from the steeped leaves. If you like lemon grass, I would highly recommend this tea. They also gave you a strainer for the leaves so your cup would be tea leaves free. I would recommend them putting each tea pot on their own individual apparatus with a flame in the center to keep your tea warm throughout your entire meal service.
I'm not a huge fan of scones but adding the jam and the thing that looks like butter but it isn't (forgot the name) made it taste and less dry. The sandwiches at first was just okay. I tried all 3 types and I noticed that the ones with the meat, had a type of jam in it and I thought it complemented the meat very well.
Overall, I highly recommend this place but I would abstain from getting the tea service. I think ordering something off the menu and just a pot of tea will give you more of a tasteful/flavorful experience. I think their real food looked and tasted much better than the scones and sandwiches.

Our party of four came in during the afternoon for light tea and snacks, and we were pleasantly surprised at this little café hiding in our neighbourhood. Everything we had here was absolutely brilliant. From the perfectly brewed tea to the delectable and generous deserts, we all agreed we'd be sure to come again. Although we did come when it was rather busy and it was a little difficult to get ahold of the wait staff, it only made for more timely conversation. For dress, it's fancier than casual. Not quite dinner jacket and tie, but not T-shirt and jeans friendly.

From the phenomenal service and the perfectly brewed tea, you really can't help falling in love with this place!we ordered the continental and the Cinnamon tea, and even though we went just for dessert it suited us greatly. I'd love to give it more than 5 stars just based off the clotted cream!
