My son has attended Chai Tots for 3 years, and each year has been better than the last. He loves his morahs (teachers), and they really love him back. The curriculum is great how it focuses every week on a judaic and secular theme. My son came home singing songs about the holiday of Sukkot and the about the fall season. He came home talking about insidious and evergreen trees, and all the names of the parts of the leaves. It is a literacy rich environment where my son learned all the letters of the alphabet as it was incorporated into the weekly themes, science experiments and where ever else it could fit. I love that my son had music, yoga and gymnastics each week. He went on several field trips throughout the year and went on class trips to the park.
The teachers also use a blog that they update weekly with short descriptions and tons of pictures for the parents to stay involved and see what the children are really doing. There are two parent-teacher conferences each year, and Sarah the director as well as the teachers welcome and appreciate all communication. Chai Tots also hosts several Chai Tots community events which is great opportunity to meet other parents and socialize while the kids have a great time.
My family is truly blessed to have found such a delightful home-away-from-home for our son. I'm sad that this will be his final year at Chai Tots, but I am confident that he has a firm foundation to continue his education in Kindergarten.
