Although I can't complain about Dr. Fatouh, I have to say that some of the staff can be quite disrespectful. My first deep cleaning procedure was so painful, I wish I'd died. The hygienist refused to give me the necessary numbing injections, opting for numbing gel instead which I insisted beforehand would not be enough. But what do I know, I'm just a paying customer, not a professional right?
My last visit was the worst. I came in, sat down in the waiting room, and after a few minutes was asked about my visit by a seemingly kind concierge. I gave her the necessary information and requested a bit of floss before my cleaning (I felt some discomfort and wanted to floss while waiting 35 minutes before being treated). She gave me a fake smile and said "sure when I get a chance" -which I knew meant "just sit down and shut up". During my waiting time, she took care of four other patients/customers and did not once procure what I had nicely requested.
My turn came up, I was called in and I stated to the hygienist the fact that I asked for floss and was ignored, she also ignored my request by simply placing the x-ray protector on top of me and going on as if I had said absolutely nothing.
I let her continue with the process and waited for Dr. Fatouh to assess me.
During his assessment, Dr. Fatouh asked the hygienist for some floss (as I informed him that I was experiencing pain during flossing).
The hygienist simply said "yes" and promptly handed him a string of clean floss from her drawer.
At this point I was livid. After the assessment, I got up, and left ignoring the hygienist's offer of a 'goodie bag' complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste and .......yep you guessed it -FLOSS!
I said "no thank you" and left, never to return again.
I must say that this dental office is immaculate, and the staff can be friendly, but this experience ruined a good portion of my day and I felt awful after such a terrible experience.
I'm considering renting a car and traveling three hours to Massachusetts to see my old dentist and hygienist who are much more inviting and respectful.
All I needed was a bit of floss, that was all. But because I was blatantly ignored over and over again, I simply refuse to go back there again.
This negative review could have been avoided if I had simply recieved a bit of floss.
