Shahla and David were wonderful hosts
We stayed in the second floor apartment.
The unit itself is cozy and comfortable though I found the kitchenette not practical.
It is nicely located to the restaurants and shops along 5th ave.
Note:This unit does not have a designated guest parking spot.
The parking situation is a nightmare anywhere in Park Slope and you have to spend alot of time hunting for an off street parking space.
Having to drive around for up to 45 minutes to find a spot, then walk a half mile to get back to the apartment will make you crazy.
But I was on vacation so I convinced myself it was part of the adventure.

My wife and I were first drawn to Celeste Guest House because of its proximity (one block) to our daughter’s apartment, but after we arrived it was obvious that there were other good reasons to stay there. We stayed in the “Red” apartment on the second floor. It is a comfortable apartment with a large living room/kitchenette combination, a separate cozy but adequate bedroom and a bath. Shahla gave us a warm welcome upon our arrival late the first night and was attentive, but not intrusive during our entire stay. Her husband David repaired our malfunctioning television as soon as we requested his help. The neighborhood is not as upscale as Park Slope adjacent to Prospect Park, but it is quiet, comfortable, and within easy walking distance of restaurants, clubs and at least three subway lines. We walked home quite late on multiple evenings and always felt safe. We are already trying to find space on our calendar for another visit this summer to visit our daughter and of course, stay at Celeste Guest House.

This guesthouse is wonderful!! I stayed here for a week while visiting NYC. The 3rd floor suite was very clean and spacious and I loved the decor. I had my own kitchen and charming bathroom. It had all the amenities that I needed and it was a fabulous cozy home away from home. The subway, restaurants and shops were all walking distance and I felt safe walking alone. Shahla was kind and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to all!

We recently stayed at the Celeste House (June 2008). The stay was fantastic. The owners Shahla and David we friendly and very helpful hosts. The home was beautiful and you can tell as soon as you arrive that they have put a lot of time into making it very nice. There are 2 very affordable rooms to stay in. We stayed in the Aqua Room. This room was on the 3rd floor. It was decorated amazingly. There is a full service kitchen, dining area, living room, king size bed, and a full(huge) bath. The feel was very comfortable and very clean. It is a quiet location also. The area looks a bit industrial, but in fact, there were very neat artist lofts all around. We felt very safe and comfortable enough to walk to and from very late. The subway/ buses are only one block away including the R and F lines which took us everywhere we needed to go. We were able to get to Manhattan in about 25 minutes. We got engaged on this trip and now plan to make this a yearly ritual to stay at the Celeste Guest House. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.
