Ever one tries to be a tug the teacher dont use disiplent i recomend not to got to this school because if you do you can get hert or even worse. I your child is lookin for middle school dont go to this one. And if peaple tell is all right its not you see how many ones it has . if tell its ok its not

They have an automated phone system that they use that is totally out of control. I know at least 3 other people in my area that receive phone messages from them and these people have nothing to do with the school. We are reporting them to the nuisance call bureau and the board of Ed.

Catherine and Count Basie Middle School 72 is not that bad of a school. Im in seventh grade in this school. My math teacher is Ms. Dorado and my science teacher is Ms. V. Smith. My friends and I are failing math and science because nobody understands them. the trips are fun but cost a lot of money. Of course we have uniform ( ugh whyyyyy). Our uniform is a navy blue shirt with the school logo and khaki pants. On Friday we have to wear a white shirt with the school logo and khaki pants also. If we chose not to wear uniform on Fridays we have to bring a dollar (first of all why are they making us pay to wear cloths). Honestly there is a lot of fights about 5 a day at lunch. This kid body slam two kids in one lunch period. This other kid was bleeding, bruised and had a black eye. Girls fighting boys, boys fighting girls. I'm in a gender class. My class is the worst class in the school, they scream, fight, play and walk around in the hall ways. We can never learn, or have fun. The fun that my class has is running around and hitting people, its horrible. There is always drama everyday. They can never shut up, they cant shut up for two seconds i'm serious two seconds; they just have to be moving chairs, desks and talking. I just cant anymore. Not even at lunch we can do hair or something, we have to sit down. HELLO ITS LUNCH TIME FREE TIME DUH! I hate it. Kids smoke and skip classes its just bad. I'm not acting like i'm innocent, sometimes i can talk but not all the time. Kids be taking out there phones in class, and play music. There is another school on the second floor the school is Redwood middle school. Why are they taking up half of the second floor, like we need that for tech and different classes. There is another school for special needs i feel really bad for them and wish they with get a very good education. Some of these girls are hoes because they be asking everybody out and sucking boy's you know what i'm serious. I wish and i am hoping Catherine and Count Basie Middle School 72 will improve. It's only been a month into the year. That's why this school has a bad rating and i still have two whole years left. 0_0

Thus school is bad but is kind of good. Well theres a lot of fights but idc bout the fights tho. Everybody hates the science teacher Mrs.V Smith she is worst my friend told me bout her tht she annyoing and she gave u detention for no reason. On the second floor theres a other school called Redwood Middle School i hate tht school y they have to be on our 2nd floor but they take a half of the second floor cuz theres speech, technology, and ESL. There other half of the second floor is P993, thts for Special Needs also they take a half of the 1st Floor but end of the hallway. Some people wear uniform and some people dont. Everybody wears a shirt with a navy blue collar and a logo say our school name and khaki pants or navy blue pants. One day when they anonouce bout people dont wear uniform, they have to call ur parents, u get after school detention like 20 mins or 30 mins, and u have to be suspended depends how many days they have to gave u. They have fun trips is cool but its cost a lot of money. Last year, they used to have talent for double periods and u have to choose wat talent u want and now they give u a talent and only for ur classmates they sucks dick. Im good at music also one more kid but the rest there not good at music. My music teacher Mr. Ricks, he gave us work and other kids refused to do his work he fun and he let us play flute. In Redwood Middle School the principal sge is so mean when i take stair case A cuz the speech room is in 209 and she told me tht go to the other stair case thts not fair but im lazy idc wat tht princpal said. I like my princpal she nicer than the Redwood Middle School princpal. Well Redwood Middle School wear a green shirt with a collar and logo and khaki pants. In my school every Friday also trip days we have to wear a white shirt with a collar and a logo. So my mom got angry cuz they keeping switching the school uniforms. Last year the boys wear navy blue shirt with a collar and khaki pants and the girls wear light blue shirt with a collar and khaki pants. The girls complain to the principal to change to navy blue with a collar with a school logo. Its cost $12 thts stupid i didnt like the light blue cuz when u wear a bra it can see it through. Its my second year at this school now and I have lots to say. If you had to chance to not go to this school, you should probably take it but if not then it honestly wouldn't be that terrible in my opinion. First thing first, the bad side to this school. Many fights in one week, usually at least one fight during lunch per day but usually not that serious, although when they are, they can get a bit violent. Students smoke before school so if you don't want to be around that, don't go to the park in the morning but that's not school property so, not sure if it counts. Students are pretty disrespectful to teachers, but do get punished. Some teachers don't put grades in which is one of my least favorite things, they put them in last minute. And if you're in the honors class, you get lots of homework, especially in math. I'm just going to say it, the school has bugs. Not small little insects, but bugs. Large ones that I don't think I've ever seen before, which are usually found in the cafeteria so I'd avoid that. Also, once in a classroom we'd found a small mouse in the closet where the teacher was storing her snacks and food for the class, students had to take care of that while teacher cowered away in corner. Also, the uniform is pretty outrageous if you'd ask me. Logo everything, which is a lot of money. I personally don't buy shirts from the school though. Sadly, ever since last year we no longer have talent. Talent was a double period that students would choose subjects like: Chorus, Visual Arts, Modern Band, Debate, Tech, etc. Now it is Music, Art, and Tech, but there is no longer a choice.
Now the positive side. The school's art classroom is beautiful. The art teacher is amazing and lets students express themselves throughout the room by letting them paint on the walls and such. The art projects are interesting and fun, a bit challenging but doable. The art teacher also provides a portfolio class later on in the year but unfortunately that art teacher may be leaving soon. The work is a lot, but it usually pays off. Especially in math, I have significantly improved. With classes before homeroom, extra help throughout the day for math around the time of the test, you are sure to get a good grade. The school has many clubs including the multicultural club which is pretty much dance, Broadway junior, gospel choir, and drama which you would think is the same as Broadway junior but it's not, i'm in drama and it's both for acting and for test prep. We do Shakespeare and test practice, things like that after school. The assemblies with dancers and singers from the school are pretty cool, lots of talent. There are two deans for each grade so if anyone really tries to cut class, they'd be caught pretty soon.
