Excellent venue and service. My entire visit was very enjoyable. I was greeted very nicely and all the service was very attentive and polite. Food was amazing!!!! Atmosphere is fine, not too crowed or noisy. I highly recommend you have dinner here and order their danish mussels!

WOW! Simply divine...
The short version: Must try. Delicious food, great service, cool ambiance. Worth a drive. Loved it so much that went back for Saturday brunch.
The full story: I am so glad I followed a friend’s recommendation to try this place out. 6 of us had an amazing dinner experience. We tried a couple of cocktails, wine, a wide variety of appetizers, mains and deserts from the dinner menu and almost everything was in the “Wow! I will order this again next time” category.
I usually do not go in so much detail with my reviews but this experience was so memorable and enjoyable that I feel obligated to share at least some details of what I still remember.
We tried over a dozen of different appetizers and were very pleased with all of them. I will only mention my personal top 5 favorites (not in preference order): cotton candy wrapped pork belly, crispy calamari in tamarind sauce, grilled scallops with lobster risotto, tuna tartar and grilled goat cheese&pear salad. Also, I know it’s not for everyone, but if you are like me and love bone marrow – try their version served with giant escargots. Yum.
Given the variety of appetizers, we went lighter on the mains and shared 3 dishes: Churrasco steak, Branzino fish (asked for filet) and a huge 38 OZ bone-in rib-eye. All of them were outstanding.
For the finale, even though we had no room left, we had to try a couple of deserts. The phyllo dough Cannoli was an interesting twist and the fried Oreo with ice cream was just heaven.
As I said earlier, we loved in so much that we went back for brunch on Saturday, even though it meant a 30 minute drive. We were not disappointed. Huevos rancheros, double cut bacon with chimichurri, goat cheese omelette and lobster Benedict were great. I absolutely loved my short ribs hash (what a great idea! Never seen it before). Another highlight was French toast filled with creamy eggs. The lady that was having it was experiencing a “when Harry met Sally” moment. She really did not want to share and did not want to talk to anyone while eating it. I am definitely ordering it next time! For desert we shared a delicious French toast with fruit and ice cream.
Kudos to the chef and the team that runs that place! I can’t wait for my next trip to the Big Apple. I will definitely be back to Carnem to try the rest of the menu (and repeat my favorites...)
